With 15,000 players it was by far the biggest mtt I ever played. I got 149 place! Thats in the top 1%, so I felt a boost of confidence making it that far. I have been learning a lot about MTTs lately, especially with the big mistakes made that knock me out. I went out with QJo with 6.5BB and an M of approximatively 4. The guy on button was making a lot of steals and pushed me all in (I was SB). I called with QJo and was right, he had K4o, but I never managed to make a pair or straight. I put the hands through Pokerstove and they were 55.8% vs 44.1%, he was a favorite. By this time I had only 6.5BB's so if I was going to make it any deeper I had to call. Anyways, I still won $150 so its not too bad.

Ring I am down 5 buy-ins in 1,300 hands. I also have improved on tightening up today as I played 18% VPIP and 15 PF Raise.

Besides some bad plays (like pushing with QQ, he of course showdowned AA), I had some bad beats and some other interesting things.

Here is my worst beat of the day: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1246310 Looking back at it, perhaps I should of reraised the first guy at the flop but honestly with the best hand I got the desired results of getting 2 guys all in. Too bad I didnt win. I wondering if it put me on tilt slightly now, as I was having a winning session (was up 3.5 buyins) until that point. I didnt feel too bad but looking bad I underestimated it. Next time I think it will be better to take a break when those type of hands arise.

This hand was horribly played.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1246318
I was so priced out it was ridiculous. I should of re-raised (once again) post flop to define my hand and then let it go when the action continued.

This hand also. I need to let go of Fancy Play Syndrome here. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1246337. If I would of bet out on the flop, even if I got drew out on, I would of made a much better play. Also the push was a little dangerous as both AK and QQ (the AK was very possible as a bet caller, the QQ more so if he re-raised me, but still possible nonetheless) beat me (and K9 as well even though I consider that a weak call on his part).

I ended up down 5 buy ins today, but lucky for me my mtt payout was more than that. Yesterday though, I had the best day in my ring game career, winning 10.75 buy ins!

I qualified for Silver Star today at PS. I am hoping to get Gold Star by the end of this week as I am going home to visit family/friends in a week and a half and wont play as much a day.

June 30, 2007.

Hello to anyone who links from michaeyk's blog. I am his girlfriend and we decided it was a good idea for me to blog even if Im the sole reader. Accountability.

I played 5 tournaments yesterday. 2 MTTs (FTP$5.50 and PS$11 DS) and Three 2 table SnGs at Full Tilt for $26 Tokens. I won 2 tokens so today I am playing the $26 buy in $17.5K guaranteed at FT. I choose this one because it is double stacked. I played a DS, 30 minute blinds MTT at Stars yesterday and loved the format. I really rewards tight aggressive play with looser steals at the end.

Yesterday I played 1083 ring game hands. (Not a busy day) 343 at the $50NL and 740 at the $100NL. I broke even for the day (+$9.60). I always play 6 max.

Heres my biggest problem I noticed after looking over the hands with my boyfriend. I am playing super duper way too loose. My VIP is 23! I was damn near raising everything in late position (2 4 off?). So today I am trying to bring that down, in the area of 15-18. In an effort to redirect myself in to tighter play, I am only playing pairs, and tier one and tier two hands today. I have no problem playing tight in MTTs so I hope this is an easy correctable leak.

Aggression is no problem, in fact perhaps I am hyper aggressive. Women players, like myself, tend to be super weak or super aggressive. Today I am seeking a balance and working on pot control.

Heres an interesting hand:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1222845

Ok so raising on the button with AJs. She from SB 3 bet me. I think calling was bad here. Do you think it would of been better to reraise 3 times more preflop or to fold preflop? She was a pretty solid player (VIP 16.5/11.25 PF raise) but at another table raised me alot when I was in cutoff and she was on button. Also she showdowned alot, 23% (this is looking back at it on PT, not a read I had during my play). I had to fold on the flop with the Ace since AK and AQ beat me. Why else would she reraise me? Unless she was playing cop since I had been raising alot. I suppose looking back I should of just folded to her reraise. But is reraising again justified? Does one want to build such a huge pot with not a tier one hand?

Today I will be playing the FTP MTT and perhaps one other if/when I get cracked out. I will probably play more $26 Token SnGs too. I will 2-3 the $50NL ring also.

My poker blog

I am starting this poker blog to help improve my game. I am currently playing MTT's with a buy in of $11 or less (including some 5 or 10 table SnG's), except for the FT $26 since the satellites are not too difficult, and the $50NL ring game. I planned a month of MTT's but after about 2 and a half weeks I missed the ring. So now I will continue playing both, usually a combination of one or two MTT's and two to three ring games. I like to play 2-4 tables at a time.

My plan of study is to read forums and (for the first time) become an active poster. I also am watching a cardrunners video every night. These will be a mixed of ring and MTT videos.

This weekend specifically I will be finishing Harrington's Vol. 1. I have been reading Harrington's 3 volumes more causally and now its time to buckle down and finish it.

I will post some hands tomorrow.
